The price for the first bag is ISK 6880. Additional bags are ISK 1320 each. Odd-size luggage is for example golf bags, ski bags, bicycles and strollers. On Icelandair flights, BagBee can not check in bicycle bags at the moment.

What is Bagbee?
BagBee is a baggage service company, specialising in remote check-in and bag-drop for Icelandair and Play airlines in Iceland. Remote check-in means that you check-in your bags before going to the airport.
Why should I use the BagBee check-in service?
Some of the benefits of using the Bagbee remote luggage transport and check-in service include: You don't have to carry your bags to or in the airport, you don't need to arrange your transport to the airport around your luggage, you skip the check-in line, you can show up later to the airport (often meaning more sleep), you have less stress on the travel day.
Can I trust BagBee with my bag?
Yes you can trust Bagbee. It is operated in co-operation with Icelandair and Play airlines and Keflavik airport authorities. BagBee has gone through screening and has been authorized to check-in bags for the airlines. The airport authorities have approved and facilitate the operations in the airport area. The founders have 25 years’ experience in tourism, over 20 years in aviation and over 10 years in the luggage industry. We are professionals who take pride in providing good and safe service to our customers and partners. We have trained drivers who receive your bags which are sealed and under video surveillance from the time the are loaded to our trucks until they are processed at the bag-drop in the airport. You get a confirmation e-mail with photos of the luggage once it has been checked-in at the bagdrop area in KEF airport.
Which airlines does Bagbee service?
BagBee co-operates with Icelandair and Play airlines. More airline partners will be added soon.
What area does BagBee service?
BagBee checks in bags anywhere in the Reykjavik Capital area along with the northern part of the Reykjanes peninsula. Roughly from Mosfellsbær to Keflavik. The address field in the booking process automatically finds addresses where BagBee offers it´s luggage check-in and transport service.
Does BagBee check in bags to any country?
BagBee checks in bags to all European destinations and USA. BagBee can not check in bags to Canada and Israel at the moment.
Is the baggage handling process safe?
BagBee operates in co-operation with Icelandair and Play and Keflavik airport authorities. The check-in service has strict procedures to ensure the safety of the bags and the passengers. The bags are under camera surveillance in the delivery van and are sealed by the driver. The BagBee check-in and transport service is therefore very safe.
How does the remote check-in service work?
The remote check-in service is easy to book and the process is smooth. You book your check-in on our website or with your hotel or tour operator and select a time window within which the Bagbee driver arrives. On the day of the bag pick-up, you get a detailed timing for the pick-up. The driver checks your documents, seals the baggage and delivers it to the bag-drop at the airport for you where it is then loaded on the plane. You then pick it up in the destination airport, just as if you would have checked it in yourself.

The rates are based on the number of bags. The basic price is ISK 6,880, - and each additional bag costs ISK 1,320, -. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to book more than 30 bags.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK THE CHECK-IN SERVICE?
Once you have booked a flight, you can immediately book the BagBee check-in service. The sooner the better as the limit is how many orders we handle daily. Please note that we cannot check the bag in for you unless you have checked in online. The booking window for next day´s flights closes at 15:00 (3pm).
CAN I CHECK-IN ONE BAG WITH BAGBEE AND ANOTHER ONE AT KEF AIRPORT?
Yes, if your baggage allowance is more than one bag and you would like to check in one bag with BagBee and one at the airport, you can.
CAN I BOOK THE BAGBEE BAGDROP SERVICE FOR FLIGHTS FROM OTHER AIRPORTS THAN KEFLAVIK?
BagBee only services flights with Icelandair and Play airlines from KEF airport.
CAN BAGBEE PICK UP MY BAG AT KEF AIRPORT AND BRING IT TO THE HOTEL
BagBee does not yet offer pick-up service in KEF airport.
The Pick-up Process
WHAT IS CONSIDERED ODD-SIZED LUGGAGE
Odd size luggage is e.g. golf bags, skis, bicycles, trolleys and prams, large backpacks with outside straps etc.
WHEN WILL MY BAGS BE PICKED UP?
During the booking process, you choose the pick-up time window which is convenient for you.
When the drive is planned, BagBee sends you a text message with a more detailed estimated pick-up time.
WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE READY WHEN THE BAGBEE DRIVER ARRIVES?
You need to have checked-in for your flight (online)
Have your boarding pass QR- or bar code ready
Have your passport ready
Have your bags packed, within the weight limit of your baggage allowance, and ready for transport
HOW LONG DOES THE DRIVER STAY / HOW LONG IS BAG HAND-OFF PROCESS?
The driver only needs 5 minutes with you when picking up the bags.
Please note that in case of issues that cause delays with the check-in process (e.g. passenger not checked-in, bag over the weight limit, passport not available), the driver may be forced to leave without the bags.
WE ARE IN A GROUP, DO WE ALL NEED TO MEET THE DRIVER?
On flights to Europe, the driver only needs to meet and check the passport for one passenger in each reservation (up to 5 persons). That means that only one person from a family or group, can check-in bags for the rest of the group.
On flights to USA, the BagBee driver needs to meet and check the passport and boarding card of each passenger.
HOW IS THE PROCEDURE BEFORE PICK-UP
You will receive an SMSwith the estimated pick-up time when the BagBee driver starts the route. Included will be a tracking link to track the driver on the way to you.
5 minutes before the driver arrives, you will receive another text message. We ask that you please have your bags ready along with your passport and boarding pass.
HOW IS THE PROCEDURE ON PICKUP SITE
The driver does an identity check (please have your passport ready) and then scans the boarding pass, weighs the baggage and makes sure that it is within the baggage allowance that has been booked with the airline
The driver goes over the security and safety procedure with the customer, including what cannot be checked-in
The driver prints a bag label, labels the bags and seals the bag. You will receive a copy of both the bag tag and the seal, so you can make sure that no one has opened the bag while in BagBee´s care
The driver takes the bag to the airport to be handed over to the airline at the "bag drop" check-in belt
The Delivery Process
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY BAG AFTER IT´S PICKED-UP?
The bag is loaded to the BagBee truck and the driver continues the route to the next pick-up location. The truck is never left unlocked. After the last pickup, the driver goes to the airport bag drop area with the bag. The bags are handed over to the airline at the bag drop in the airport. You get a tracking link sent which allows you to track the bag on it´s way.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY BAG HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO KEF AIRPORT?
You will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail and a photo when BagBee has delivered your bags to the bagdrop at KEF airport.
HOW IS THE PROCEDURE AT THE AIRPORT
The bag is delivered to the airport, scanned and processed at the bag drop. The customer will receive an email with a confirmation for the check-in along with a photo of the bag. This process is done twice a day, in the evenings and late mornings.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY FLIGHT IS CANCELLED?
If your flight is cancelled before the bag is picked-up, please send us an email to email@example.com or call +354 578 5900 and notify us of the cancellation. We will then change or cancel and refund your booking.
If your flight is cancelled after the bags is picked-up, please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call +354 578 5900 and notify us of the cancellation. We will then take your bag to the side and not deliver it to the airport. The bag can then be claimed at our baggage depot or we deliver it back to you during our next pick-up round.
If your flight is cancelled after the bag has been checked-in and handed over to the airline at the bag drop in the airport, please contact the airline via the e-mails below to claim your bag; Icelandair: email@example.com. Play Airlines : firstname.lastname@example.org
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY FLIGHT IS DELAYED?
If your flight is delayed but still departs within the same part of the day (mornings/afternoon), no action is needed on your behalf.
If the flight is delayed so that it´s new estimated time has shifted from morning to afternoon or vice versa, please send us an e-mail to email@example.com and we will change the pick-up time accordingly or cancel your booking and process a refund if requested.
If you wish to retrieve your bag, the same procedure applies as if the flight is cancelled.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I´M LATE TO THE AIRPORT OR MISS MY FLIGHT?
If you see that you will be late for your flight and the bag is still in the possession of BagBee, please notify us by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call +354 578 5900 and notify us. We will then not check the bag in but bring it back to the baggage depot.
If the bag has been checked-in at the bag drop at the airport, please contact the airline via the e-mails below to claim your bag; Icelandair: email@example.com; Play Airlines : firstname.lastname@example.org.
Items Not Allowed
If your bags include any of the following items, BagBee cannot check-in your bag. If in doubt, please contact email@example.com and we will advise you on the issue
• Items with installed lithium batteries, e.g., power banks.
• Gas or camping fuel (including empty containers)
• Flammable or corrosive liquids (including pepper spray)
• Explosives (including fireworks)
• Any item including gas or a charge (including avalanche rescue backpacks)
• Dry ice
• Oxidizing materials (including bleach)
• Radioactive material
• illegal items according to Icelandic law
Strollers, prams and car seats
Passengers are allowed to check in strollers, prams and car seats, free of charge, on Icelandair and Play flights. That allowance differs between airlines. This free allowance is intended for passengers using said items to bring children and infants to the airport and can only be used at Keflavik airport.
BagBee can only check in bags that are a part of the baggage allowance in the passenger booking and is displayed on the boarding card. Passengers can use their normal baggage allowance to check in strollers, prams or car seats or buy extra baggage allowance to get BagBee to check in all those items.
Those who wish to bring strollers or car seats to the departure gate, can do so without getting a bag label from BagBee. A staff member from the airlines will label those items at the gate.
Skis and golf bags
On Icelandair and Play flights, you can check in skis and golf bags with BagBee. Both airlines offer free check-in for ski boots when a ski allowance is purchased.
BagBee can only check in bags who have a registered baggage allowance in the passenger booking and on the boarding card. As of now, Icelandair only displays one item in the ski allowance and therefore BagBee can not check in the free ski boot allowance. Passengers can opt to pack their ski boots in their normal luggage or buy a special allowance for the ski boots. A normal baggage allowance can be used to check in ski boots.
On Play flights, a ski allowance is displayed as two items and therefore it´s no problem checking in skis and ski boots with BagBee
BagBee can check in golf bags without any issues, both with Icelandair and Play.
BagBee checks in bicycle bags and boxes on flights with Play airlines. At the moment, BagBee is unable to check in bike bags and boxes on Icelandair flights. We are working on that issue and it will hopefully be resolved soon.
Changes and cancellations
HOW CAN I CHANGE MY BOOKING?
You can change a booking by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number and information about what changes you want to be made. For example, changing the dates, address or number of bags. Changes can be made until 2 hours before the scheduled pick-up time
CAN I CANCEL MY BOOKING?
You can cancel the order until 2 hours before the scheduled pick-up time. Send us an e-mail at email@example.com with your order number and the e-mail address used for the booking and we will process a full refund.
